i-Size is the EU safety regulation for child car seats (ECE R129). It was introduced in July 2013 to make child car seats easier to fit, provide better protection from side impacts and keep children rearward-facing for longer.
By measuring children according to their height rather than their weight
It is mandatory to keep I-Size seats rear-facing until the child is a minimum of 15 months old
A side impact test to ensure that the seats provide better protection from side impact collisions
Reducing the risk of misuse and improper installation due to seats being secured by ISOFIX
New generation dummies which more closely represent actual behaviour of real children
Classified by a childs weight
Classified by a childs height
Makes it simpler for parents to get the selection right car seat for each child
Rear Facing
till at least 9kg (approx. 9months)

When a baby is rearward-facing, a babys head and neck will be fully supported in a potential impact, for a much longer period of time.
Frontal & rear impact testing
